Match Report Week 7 w/c 31/10/11

Premier Division

Premier Division Radcliffe CC’s Jim Chadwick, Nigel Hallows and Rob Hall scored maximum points against Ramsbottom D who sit firmly on the bottom of the league table. The Ramsbottom team had previously lost to their A team 8-1, with Martin Holt beating Andy Jackson to secure their single win... Two other matches ended with a 7-2 score-line, Hilton A beating Ladybridge A and Little Lever A defeating Burning Desire. Mark Gibson and Ron Pennington were unbeaten for Hilton as was Graham Jeffries for Little Lever.

Division One

Little Lever B jump to the top of Division One thanks to their 9-0 win over Standish, their unbeaten players were John Hutchinson, Ian Lansdale and Paul Tatlock. They are now two points ahead of. Heaton A who lost 5-4 at Nomads C, who’s Keith Dale, won three and Derek Watmough two.

Nomads A are one point adrift of Heaton but kept up their challenge with a 7-2 victory over Heaton B which featured trebles by Dennis Collier and Sean Toland.

Nomads B who are also well placed in the table did not play.

Mike Brierley trebled for bottom team Meadow Bank who were beaten by visiting Hilton B, and Hilton C ran out 6-3 winners at Wingates but, the surprise on the night was Atul Sheth’s win over Ken Connor.

Division Two 

Farnworth TTC A march at the top of Division Two, they now have a nine point advantage over St Catherine’s B who have a match in hand. Farnworth scored maximum points at Hilton G where Graham Clayborough, Craig Johnson and sub Josh Sandford were unbeaten. Meanwhile St Cath’s scored an 8-1 victory over Little Lever C with trebles by Krishna Chauhan and Paulina Orzechowska and a double by Beth Farnworth who lost to John Dawes.

John Dodd was unbeaten for Meadow BEN B who lost 5-4 at Hilton D, and four players scored two wins in the match which Ladybridge B beat Hilton F 5-4.

Paul McCormick and Paul Mort both scored three wins for Heaton C who beat their D team 8-1, as did Nathan Patel and Daniel Harris for Farnworth TTC B who beat Hilton E by the same score.

Division Three

The top two teams in Division Three both recorded maximum point’s victories, Meadow BEN B against Farnworth SC, and St Paul’s Peel against Hilton I. For Meadow BEN Alan Hibbert, James Bollard and Mike Audsley were unbeaten as was Mike Murray, Geoff Rushton and Gill Marsden for St Paul’s.

Hilton H’s 8-1 win at Boyzone included trebles by Brian Hall and Brian Young, and Farnworth TTC C’s 7-2 victory over Ladybridge C featured a treble by Josh Sandford.

Richard Whittleworth was unbeaten for Walkden Meths in their 6-3 win over Hilton J, as was David Yates for Irlam but, his team were beaten 5-4 by visiting Meadow Hill.

Division Four

Brass moved up to second spot in Division Four after their 7-2 win at Farnworth TTC D, their win featured trebles by Abdowali Ali and Jeff Weston and a single win by Chone Chumalusu.

James Young was unbeaten for St Catherine’s C who were beaten 6-3 by visitors St Paul’s Peel B who’s Manny Mnadede, Tom Dylan and Keith Phillips all scored two wins. 

John Nuttall trebled for Lostock TC who lost 6-3 at Harper Green B, as did Chris Rawlinson for BL&GC A where. Scott Brown added two wins which gave them their 5-4 win over SSY.

Matt Fishwick and Tom Healey both trebled for Hilton K who won 8-1 at BL&GC B Safron Newhouse who added two more lost to Chris Rawlinson.

Ian Wheeldon
